Ed Sheeran has revealed his songs have to pass the test to sound great on Capital radio, as he launches his new single, 'Azizam' today.
This morning Ed Sheeran excusive joined Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby and revealed his songs are made to sound great on Capital.
Speaking on an open top bus outside Global Radio studios, Ed spoke to the breakfast show presenters after the first UK play of his new music.
Launching new single ‘Azizam’ today, Ed said “It’s really nice hearing it on the radio!”
“Do you know what? There's a producer that I work with called Steve Mack that actually has compression in his studio to make it sound exactly like Capital Radio”.
He continued “So we can literally, like, we'll be listening to a track, and he's like, “Well, let's put it through the Capital compressor”, because that's how it's going to sound when it's on radio”.
“This is where it's where it's where you aspire for pop music to be played”.
Ed also talked about working with Sir Elton John and teased his upcoming album. He said “It's like more playful. The next song coming out is a bit more classic me. I guess it's like a sad, acoustic, upbeat. It's called ‘Old Phone’ which comes out in like a month. Basically, I'm going to be putting out a song pretty much every month till the record comes out”.
